Pierre Forunier has promoted modern liposuction around the world inspired by  Fischer´s technique of liposculpture. To avoid inconsistent results, he recommended the use of the technique known as  “Criss-Cross”, which is the transposition of different areas to be aspirated from different incisions and different angles.

The main principle of modern liposuction was born by two Italian gynaecologists Arpad and Giorgio Fischer, who developed the concept of using suction with a thin, metal tube, which they called cannula, to aspirate hollow subcutaneous fat. This tool allowed them to open a tunnel between big blood cells of the body which they were performing fat suction.
